First Steps in Music

Early childhood classes for children ages 0 – 18 mo. (with a parent or other caregiver).

Program based on First Steps in Music®, developed at the University of Hartford and based on research into how young children learn, particularly how and when they acquire musical skills. 12-week series beginning in late September and January.

Good Vibrations

Good Vibrations is a series of classes examining the physics of musical instruments and sound production. Classes include talk, demos, hands-on experiments, and instrument making. Topics covered include vibration, sound generation, wave motion, hearing, and musical instruments, with a closer look at the workings of each of the instrument families. For middle school students.
